UPS TECHNICIAN

 

Job Description


Trained, experienced UPS technician needed to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various 3-phase and single phase UPS models.

 

Job Requirements

  • Technician must be reliable, organized and professional with solid customer service skills
  • Must have 3+ years relevant work experience in the field
  • Must record client related activities and obtain customer sign-off that work is performed in a satisfactory manner
  • Problem solving skills must be strong to resolve sometimes complex UPS and related electrical problem
  • Technician will service Houston area as well as other cities in Texas and occasionally out of state for short periods
  • Required hours are sometimes irregular requiring late/early business day and weekend work
  • Technician will also participate in an on-call rotation
  • OEM experience and training required

BATTERY TECHNICIAN

 

Job Description


Battery Technician will be responsible for installation, removal and maintenance of batteries for Uninterruptible Power Supply systems. Batteries weigh between 6 and 110 pounds and often need to be carried by hand. Battery types include both sealed (more common) and flooded and contain electrolyte. Maintenance responsibilities involve using hand-held devices to record technical data required to evaluate the "health" of batteries.

 

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1+ year relevant job experience in the field preferred
  • Technician must be reliable, organized, and professional
  • Technician must capture and deliver relevant data to home office and to customer via technical reports
  • Other tasks will include safely driving a truck and heavily loaded trailer to/from customer sites which may sometimes be out of town
  • Some warehouse responsibilities will be involved which included preparing batteries for transportation, managing inventory, and operating a fork lift
  • Hours are occasionally irregular requiring early/late business day and weekend work
